“I started at PAION in the summer of 2001 upon completing my post-doctoral studies in Boston. I was looking for a way to return to Germany and the most interesting job I could think of was starting in a small company with a good story and a small group of people who really want to "move" something. Since then PAION underwent several changes, first growth and IPO, and then after May 2007 several restructuring processes, acquisition of CeNeS and strategy changes. During this time I also took over a lot of different tasks and have learnt a considerable amount. In a small company like PAION one experiences these changes first-hand. In contrast to larger organisations, one is closer to the decision makers. This interaction and involvement was what I was looking for and joining PAION was definitely the right choice. I had and still have the opportunity to work in an exciting environment, learn something new every day and take on responsibility for an important part of drug development. The company has grown tremendously since I joined, and I have been given the opportunity to grow along with it by taking on more and more responsibility within the organisation. PAION will continue to grow and there are many plans and ideas that lie ahead – I am sure it is not going to be boring.”
