PAION is headquartered in Aachen, Germany. Since the acquisition of CeNeS Pharmaceuticals, which was completed in June 2008, the company has a second site in Cambridge, UK.

PAION's headquarter is located in a former schoolhouse in Aachen (Aix-la-Chapelle), a beautiful historic city of around 250,000 in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia.

Aachen lies in the heart of Europe, directly at the borders to Belgium and the Netherlands, 40 miles west of Cologne. It is within easy reach of international airports in Brussels, Cologne, Düsseldorf, Maastricht and Mönchengladbach.

With the largest technical university in Western Europe, the RWTH (the Technical University of Aachen), three additional universities and the Jülich Research Center nearby, Aachen and the region offer a broad academic infrastructure and R&D bases for a variety of high-tech industries, including medical technology and biotechnology. PAION's second site also lies in a historic town, Cambridge (UK), with approximately 120,000 inhabitants.

50 miles (80 km) north of London, Cambridge is best accessible via train, bus or taxi from the London Stansted airport or directly from London.

Cambridge has become world-renowned for its University which brought forth several famous thinkers (e.g. Sir Isaac Newton and Stephen Hawkin). Through its universities and numerous colleges which generate innovations in diverse areas of research, a density of high-tech and science-oriented businesses have developed in science parks around the city.
